I had the idea that you were near

Yes, you CAN find good music in Germany! For example, Digitalism is a german electro duo with some really good remixes (that has been played by Justice amongst others) and of course they have their own singles too. This is an extended remix from the The Moshi Moshi EP (2008) of their single "Idealistic". It is currently one of my favourite songs to dance to because it consists of these different parts that all come together so powerful and great, which makes it totally danceable.

Mercury is in retrograde

Oh God, Oh God, I almost forgot! Bloc Party just revealed their new single on Monday (07.07). They haven't released it yet but I bet it's already for download. Anyway, it's called "Mercury" and it's kind of a new sound for them and I can imagine that many BP fans don't like it, because it is daring of them to make such a song I think. But I've listened to it a couple of times and really like it now, it's a cool song and I enjoy how the trumpets sound together with the drums and the guitar...Anyway, what do you think?

Mix and Match

I'll be going away for a week and wont be able to post anything new - hope you don't mind! Besides, you'll have plenty of great music to listen to while I'm gone. And I'm not going without leaving you anything behind, so here it is:

No bon hiver

No, this is absolutely not a bon hiver. Justin Vernon's (aka Bon Iver) solo album For Emma, Forever Ago is all but a happy and good winter. But stop! this is meant in a good sense. Sometimes a sad song can cheer you up, even though it sounds kind of paradoxical. I like this album, or let's say I like the songs. Because I must say that listening to the whole album can make you a bit sleepy - it's just too much of the slow, sad music. Each song in itself is really well written and you can really feel the sadness of Justin as he sat in his forest cottage one cold and lonely winter and recorded the album completely by himself. It makes sense that he wants to call himself Bon Iver and not good winter.

H.P. in the Hood

This is so funny. Found it on youtube with my friend sometime last year, it's so catchy and I love the cultural references.

Eyes lit

I'm never ever gonna forget how my father found his old Atari 2600 on the attic and took it down for us to play on. I was maybe 7 years old and had always wished for a video game machine ever since I first played with my neighbours on their Nintendo 8-bit, Sega Mega Drive or Gameboy. Yeah, maybe the Atari wasn't comparable to those but still, you could play games on the TV and it had the coolest music and sounds. I loved it and was totally hooked on Pac-man for days. I think that's why I really love listening to songs with this video game sound to it, as Desert Planet or Crystal Castles who recently (April 2008, UK) released their first album. These are my 4 favourite songs...Listen and enjoy the beeping and bleeping, just as I did and still do :)

Peace out!

Summer Vibes

MusicPlaylist

Vote for the "Instant Karma"-party right now

Actually I wanted to post the collection of "summer songs", but since MyFlashFetish is down I'm posting this video instead. "Karma Hunters" from The Pinker Tones. I really like their Music because it has this happy upbeat tune to it. The videos are really fun to watch, they are really freaky, in a good way! This song is from their Album Million Colour Revolution (2005) and currently the song I listen to the most.

The Barcelonian duo just release another album, Wild Animals, and the next song is from that album. By the way, they have lyrics in English, German, French and of course Spanish. That is funny :)

Peace out!
