Favourite. Fight The Start

One of my absolute favourite songs is surprisingly sang by a german indierock band (emphasis on german here)called Kilians, which were first called The Kilians. There are two versions of the song, called "Fight The start" and I prefer the first one listed here, although the power of the guitar in the second one gives the song another edge.

Fight The Start (Radio Version, I think) - Kilians

he looks so...cozy

I haven't posted anything new since tuesday beacause I've been so pissed at Blogger. Somehow my blog post I wrote on Sunday just got deleted! I have no idea why or when but on Tuesday it was still there but not on Wednesday. It wasn't me and no one knows my password....

Anyway, here you go: Joel Alme - Always On My Mind
(click right, then "save as..." if you want to download it)

Have I told you how much I'm in love with his album
A Master Of Ceremonies? It's the best swedish album of 2008, ohne scheiss

Do you want to take a shower before you leave?

It's time for me to finally write something about the band that has left a great musical impression of the first half of 2008. No it's not MGMT this time, it is The Teenagers.
They first started as a joke, but attracted more and more serious attention. But what a jolke it still is - in a good sense! How I love the self-aware, ironic and humourous lyrics that the The Teenagers keep coming up with! The songs on their debut album Reality Check (2008) are not only funny, their indie-synth-pop music is danceable too. You all probably heard "Starlett Johansson", "Homecoming", "Love No" and maybe even "Make It Happen". On top of that, they have done some great remixes, my favourite being the remix of the Simian Mobile Disco song "It's The Beat". However my favourite right now is another song, totally amusing of course, from the album:

The Teenagers - Sunset Beach

the hitcher

I just can not wait until the Mighty Boosh album gets released! I really hope that "The Eels song2 is on it. Henning actually promised me he would play it when he DJs if it's on the CD. God, how cool wouldn't that be, to dance to this song at a club?!

...up inside ya.

A Cross The Universe

God, I want to see it! To bad they're not coming to Munich to hold the release party. I think it's going to be awesome, but they probably have a bigger fanbase in Berlin and it's just cooler to do it there.

I just love when a swedish song gets played at the Atomic Café, even though I really don't like the song that much, but when I hear it here in Germany I just get so happy to hear something which people outside of Sweden usually doesn't even now exists. Like Familjen, Håkan Hellström or Markus Krunegård. This song is called
"Jag är en vampyr" which translates to I'm a vampire.

Now I'm gonna watch some real vampires get killed by Buffy ad then I'm gonna say good night (or good morning?) cause it is 06:17 AM.

night

Das Pop really is the shit! Praised by Justice, "Three parts Belgian and one part Kiwi", as they are described on their Myspace site, come together to create a lovely electropop sound that is totally "hummable". Their songs are so different from each other, and usually that bothers me because it's often hard to "define" the band and what they're about when every song has a totally different sound. But Das Pop amazingly make it work as a coherent piece, which is a style unique for them. They should come to Munich - now! Listen to more songs on their official Myspace site here if you don't have their first two albums and can not wait for the third one.

Pssst, "Try Again" is a total hit. I can feel it so just trust me and start listening to it now ;)

See ya!

Sugarplum Fairy Concert

Sugarplum Fairy is a band from Sweden which often is associated with Mando Diao since they played as a pre-band at their tours. Two of the band members, Victor and Carl Norén, are brothers to the more famous singer of Mando Diao - Gustaf Norén. Yesterday Sugarplum Fairy played in Munich nad I totally enjoyed it! Great concert with a terrific flow in it and the guys seemed to be happy and on top. The crowd (mostly teens) went totally insane at some points, for example when Carl took his shirt of. The girls got their part and I think the guys too, atleast Henning enjoyed it.

This is my personal favourite, and the video is just great. The last song at the concert was this one - I loved it!

Peace and Love!

'cause we're dancing and you have so soft lips

Thanks Henning for a lovely night at the Atomic! The best moment was when he played
The Coral - "Dreaming of You" and right after Håkan Hellström - "Kom Igen Lena"! Perfect match! :)

Oh, I Just remember that there's a song called "A Perfect Match" by the swedish group A*teens ('98-'06). Kinda funny to watch.

för vi dansar och du har så mjuka läppar
