Some songs from yesterday at the Atomic Café. DJ was of course the marvelous Henning Furbach, who actually played Hammarin & Robin, wohoo! (I sent him the song!)
The last three ones were actually the last songs he played and the lights were already on. Perfect!
Here you go, the first single from Pete Doherty's upcoming solo-album, "Grace/Wastelands" which will be released on the 16th of March according to NME. The album also features Blur-guitarist Graham Coxon and Doherty's friends from Babyshambles.
I'm in love with Zooey Deschanel. I think she has just the right amount of quirkiness, humor, beauty and charisma. I first started to really notice her as she did a few episodes of Weeds, were she played Kat, Andy's crazy ex-girlfriend. Her most recent role was in the movie Yes Man were she played Jim Carrey's love-interest. There is a part in the movie were she gives a concert with her made up-band Munchausen By Proxy:
Zooey, wo is engaged to Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard, is in a indieband calledShe & Him together with M. Ward. Their Debut LP "Volume One" got critically acclaimed in 2008 and was on many Best Album lists. I really join in on the critics and think that the music of She & Him is timeless.
The Swedes are really hitting it this year. I just found Love Lindblom, this blond indiekid from Stockholm making catchy poptunes a la Håkan Hellström. Apparantley Love's Debut EP will be out this summer and isn't it just perfect for it? Bet those little teenage indiegirls will be screaming their lungs out.
